About the tree: Acer saccharum, commonly sugar maple. The story goes that a guy calls me and asks if I'm the turner in town who makes wood bowls. I said, "One of em anyway." "I got some logs for ya," he says. "Someone told me you'd take em." "Bring em on over," I said. "See ya in a bit," he said. And so it goes. They came down during one of the crazy wind storms during the summer of '24. That was a doozy of a summer.  

I love the rim on this one. It has a dark know in it. It's ready to serve you.
