Serving Boards

Despite being a woodturner, I still like the occasional flat board. But even then, I just can't leave them flat. This series of serving boards is an example of me finding a way to put wood on the lathe even though it may not be necessary. The square pieces are turned with a shallow depression on the top side and a subtle curve on the underside. This is so when I'm eating my grapes or olives they roll to the middle and not off the edge. The rectangle boards were an outgrowth of the square shape. They are flat on the top and the underside has a deep bevel which elevates the piece. Wood is gorgeous and I let it shine through these versatile boards.
